In 1954 the Ontario Food Terminal, located at 165 Queensway in Toronto, was opened. The Ontario Food Terminal is the largest wholesale fruit and produce distribution center in Canada and is for growers and wholesale vendors only who sell their produce to store owners and restaurants. There is no access to the general public; however, any Ontario Farmer is allowed to lease space in this farmers market to sell their fruits, vegetables or flowers.
The same year of its opening (1954), Vito Senior became a vendor in the farmers market in stall #354. Throughout the years, Dominic, Vito Senior’s eldest son, had taken over the very same stall with fresh vegetables from the farm sold mostly to independent store owners. Now to this day Dominic and his two sons Vito and Antony are still vendors in the farmers market at the Ontario Food Terminal selling our fresh vegetables go to grocery stores, restaurants, wholesalers and specialty stores.
